Gameloft brings Pub Mania to mobile
Fancy a pint? Too bad, you've got to serve your customers first
If only more mobile games were set in pubs, we'd be able to spend more time in real-world drinkeries conducting, ahem, research. Well, there's nothing like a good understanding of your subject material.
Gameloft is riding to our rescue with a new game called Pub Mania. It sees you playing a landlord who has to seat customers (eh? That never happens in our local!), take orders at the table (or that!) and then serve drinks.
Basically, it's Diner Dash in a pub. Well, Gameloft does point out that your character has proper freedom of movement, rather than jumping between tables at the press of a button. We're not sure if that's a big selling point when playing with a mobile keypad.
Still, the game sounds cool, letting you pimp your pub with new tables and decorations, hired bands and new menu items. There's six pubs to run with different themes, including 'Scottish', 'lounge' and 'traditional'.
Meanwhile, there are 13 different types of customers to keep happy, with their own preferences to cater to, in order to keep the tips flowing in.
