[Update] Do battle with Jaffar once again in Prince of Persia: The Shadow and the Flame on Android
Updated on July 25th, at 09:49: Prince of Persia: The Shadow and the Flame is finally available to download from the App Store as a Universal app for £1.99 / $2.99 [buy].

Original story follows...

Good news, Prince of Persia fans: Ubisoft's enhanced remake of classic action-platformer The Shadow and the Flame is now available to download from Google Play for £1.99.

This sequel is set 11 days after the events of the original Prince of Persia. Once again, then, you are thrust into the role of series protagonist the 'Prince'.

After you are tricked by antagonist Jaffar (magically disguised as your doppelgänger), your kingdom strips you of your hero status and banishes you from Persia.

Escaping on a cargo ship, you happen upon the shore of a mysterious island. You must survive all that this island and all of its inhabitants throw at you, then make your way back to Persia where you can confront Jaffar and put paid to his evil plans.

This remake of Prince of Persia: The Shadow and the Flame features completely new graphics, gameplay, and controls designed especially for touchscreen devices.

It also features that handsome-looking Prince from PlayStation 2 hit Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, which was released ten years after the MS-DOS version of The Shadow and the Flame.

Unfortunately, The Shadow and the Flame is yet to materialise on the App Store for the iPhone and iPad. This is apparently due to a "technical issue".

We'll let you know as soon as it turns up on Apple's digital emporium.
