Nintendo has dialed back the free to play mechanics of Pokemon Shuffle to improve the user experience. And make it more fair, basically.

The latest version, 1.2, separates the number of hearts you gain automatically to those that you have purchased. That means you can now continue earning free hearts over the usual limit of five.

The capture mechanic has also been improved with a Super Catch Mode which increases the chances of the Pokemon being captured in your Pokeball.

You'll also easier see the level and experience of each Pokemon and boost the effect of Mega Evolutions.

It's available now from the 3DS Nintendo eShop.
