Kairosoft’s latest time-eater Pocket League Story kicks off on Android

Football. Despite what the media says, it isn’t a sport that makes everyone in the world weak at the knees with anticipation as an overpaid oaf in shorts runs up to a ball.

But previous Kairosoft management games didn’t require a love (or, in the case of Hot Springs Story, any knowledge) of the subject to make them fun to play.

This time the Japanese PC-turned-mobile developer has ported over an English version of its - you guessed it - football management game Pocket League Story to Android.

Don’t expect Kairosoft to suddenly go all Football Manager 2011 on you, despite the subject. There’s still the trademark comedy animations, charming pixel-art, and reams of stats that need to be filled up to make your team better.

Only now, your characters have the habit of mysteriously producing balls from behind their backs and kicking them around.

We’ll have a full review up on site a bit later, but it’s looking like another strong entry from my brief play this morning at least. You can purchase Pocket League Story now from the Android Market for £3.23 (download).
