The T-Mobile Pocket Gamer magazine October-November 2008 is out
It's all kicking off with fab football games, top TV titles and brilliant brain trainers plus the usual news and reviews of the latest and greatest mobile games
The football season's been underway for a while now, but on mobile it's just getting started. There are three big games fighting for attention on your phone, and we've got details of all of them.
FIFA 09 is back boasting all manner of gameplay improvements from last year's version, but it's facing stiff competition from Real Football 2009 and Pro Evolution Soccer 2009, each with their own skills and tricks. The mag will help you decide which one's for you.
We've also got news on some of the other new mobile games, including the official The X Factor 2008 game, which sees you trying to become a star, braving the panel of experts with your singing and dancing talent. There's also urban racing a-plenty, thanks to The Fast & The Furious: Streets 3D and Car Jack Streets, with the latter being the closest thing mobile has to console classic Grand Theft Auto. Plus we've got a cheeky look at Playboy Games: Pool Party. Features? We got 'em! We've taken a look at four top TV games based on your favourite shows. Well, as long as your favourite shows are CSI, Grey's Anatomy, The Weakest Link or Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, anyway. Which one gets the highest ratings? The magazine reveals all.
We've also rounded up some top brain training games, which all claim to smarten up your grey cells. Will Brain Challenge Volume 2, Brain Coach with Dr Kawashima, or Brain Genius 2 prove to be the cleverest though? And if you're looking for the latest mobile game reviews, the mag has plenty to chew on. We take a look at puzzlers like Tetris Pop, Super Jewel Quest and Cake Mania 2, but also console conversions like Guitar Hero III Mobile and Spore Origins. Racing fans will be turning to our Asphalt 4: Elite Racing and Moto GP 08 reviews to see whether two or four wheels are better, while gourmet gamers will want to find out whether Get Cookin' or Pocket Chef is the best cooking sim.
Finally, there's our Pocket Gamer Directory, spotlighting the best mobile games of 2008 in a host of categories, and a rather special competition to win a PSP plus a copy of Ape Escape P, to celebrate the release of a mobile game spin-off.
You can pick up a mag in-store or download a digital copy from the Pocket Gamer website and of course you can get your hands on the best games on the T-Mobile web portal now by clicking the links below:
