PopCap's lane defence sequel Plants vs Zombies 2 gets delayed until 'later in the summer'
It's Not About Time
To the utter dismay of all at Pocket Gamer Towers, PopCap's Plants vs Zombies 2: It's About Time will miss its planned release date of July 18th.
On the official Plants vs Zombies Twitter feed, PopCap has confirmed that the release of the tower defence sequel has been pushed back to a somewhat nebulous "later in the summer" time slot.
The reasons behind this delay aren't entirely clear, with the Seattle-based studio just stating that it wants to "make sure the game lives up to fans' expectations".
PopCap's zombie-slaying sequel has already caused some consternation among fans of the series on account of PopCap opting for the free-to-play business model in this new iteration.
We gave the original Plants vs Zombies a Gold Award when it lurched onto the App Store in July 2010, so at least you'll have that to tide you over until the sequel comes into bloom.
We will, of course, keep you updated with any news of a fresh release date for Plants vs Zombies 2.
For now, though, we're just going to have to stay strong for one another.
