Pixel Starships update places new tactical options at your fingertips
Sci-fi strategy finds space for new features
Pixel Starships, the spaceship-building MMORPG currently available on iOS and in beta on Android, has received a new expansion to beef up the amount of strategic options at players’ fingertips.
Hot on the heels of February’s e-Sports update, developer SavySoda has rolled out Advanced Tactics, an add-on geared towards mid-high level users whose focus is on competitive play.
The update’s key features include the introduction of the Starship Cloaking weapon - a power-up that makes your spacecraft invisible to opponents for a limited time - and new hull expansions which enable players to ferry more weapons and cargo around.
Furthermore, Advanced Tactics lets crews work together in groups to gain unique passive abilities and debuts the biochemistry facility, a hub where Pixel Starships users can craft items. New achievements, crews, room upgrades, missions and more round off the additional content.
Funded via Kickstarter, the game has attracted over 3 million players worldwide, and its latest update promises to build on this success by adding even more content than its eSports-centric predecessor.
