Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage launches new trailer showing off swashbuckling gameplay
  • Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage has set sail with a new gameplay trailer
  • Check out the fast and furious action, with stylish visuals and sound
  • Pirates Outlaws takes you to the high seas in a fantastical world, with deckbuilding battles to be had

One of the more intriguing releases coming this year, I feel, is that of Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage. A deckbuilding roguelike with a piratical twist, it takes you to a fantastical world on a swashbuckling adventure. And now, a new gameplay trailer gives fans old and new alike a chance to see what this upcoming release from Fabled Game has to offer.

But first, what exactly is Pirates Outlaws? Well, as mentioned, it's a deckbuilding roguelike where you play one of many Pirates heroes plying the waves, taking on foes both human and monster, all while growing your legend (and loot pile).

You fuse cards to create stronger ones, use each hero's abilities to gain an advantage, and make crucial decisions as you explore the ocean and its various islands. Pirates Outlaws 2 includes new cards, an animal companion system and an innovative countdown system that means each card you play brings your enemy's turn closer.

Ship ahoy

A brief glance at the Pirates Outlaws 2 gameplay trailer shows off some surprisingly fast and furious swashbuckling action. While some roguelike deckbuilders can be a little bit lax in terms of action, Pirates Outlaws 2 looks to offer plenty of excitement.

Be it the simple yet stylish visuals, loud and vibrant sound or just the general strategy, it may not be as visceral as you'd like, but it certainly communicates the chaotic shipboard battles of Piratess. Outside of that, the crucial decisions that affect your success offer a level of overall strategy sure to entice budding captains.

Pirates Outlaws 2: Heritage may be a ways off, with an unconfirmed release date later this year, but you don't need to wait to try out other great releases. Why not dig into our latest feature covering the top five new mobile games to try this week to get yourself started?
