Outcast Odyssey is a fantastic blend of strategic card battles and exploration [Sponsored]

Outcast Odyssey is an iOS and Android collectable card game (CCG) which blends elements of action RPG and dungeon crawlers into the mix.

You'll still spend most of your time collecting cards, upgrading them, and building a deck capable of destroying all of your enemies but you'll also be exploring over 40 islands and battling your way through a bunch of challenging dungeons.

Then there's PvP which can be played in the arena, and lets you put your deck to the test against enemy players.

To learn more about Outcast Odyssey, we reached out to Erik Wahlberg, Live Producer at Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. to get his thoughts on how it sets itself apart from others card games, the challenges faced during development, and the plans for future updates.

What do you think Outcast Odyssey offers that you can’t get from any other title on the App Store?

"Outcast Odyssey is a fantastic blend of strategic and tactical card battles and exploration. Players don't just move from one battle to the next, they can explore hundreds of maps above and below ground, revealing monsters, treasure chests, and quest items.

"The battles, as mentioned earlier, allow for both strategic deck management and tactical but speedy turn-based combat."

What challenges did you face during development, and how did you overcome them?

"Outcast Odyssey is a big, rich game with numerous PvE and PvP elements. Simply developing a high-quality game of this scope was a challenge in itself.

"We were fortunate in that there were no major hurdles, but making the game required the coordinated effort of a lot of passionate developers."

Which part of Outcast Odyssey are you personally the most proud of and why?

"The community that supports our game is what we are most proud of. We have thousands of devoted players who manage guilds, share their feedback, and help us evolve the game as we continue to develop new features and content.

"Outcast Odyssey is a really cool game when it comes to free-form play. We have multiple game modes (Campaign, Quests, Bounty, Tower, Arena, and more) as well as the ability to personalise your deck to fit your style of play."

Do you have anything planned in terms of future updates for the game and, if so, can you give us any details of what these might include?

"We have been releasing awesome new cards for months now and you can expect more of that.

"Additionally, we have been rolling out new features such as the Invasion Tower, the Quest system, 5-Star Bounties, and are working on more features to make the game appealing to all of our players."

Have you any plans to bring the game to any other mobile platforms, such as Android, iOS, or Windows Phone?

"We are proud to be on both Android and iOS, but don’t have any plans to release the game on other platforms."
