Become Big Brother in the critically acclaimed Orwell: Keeping an Eye on You, out now for iOS

Cautionary tales about privacy breaches, surveillance, and the misuse of our personal data abound across all entertainment mediums. Usually they focus on the victim of an extreme surveillance state or the like, but not Orwell: Keeping an Eye on You. This one basically casts you as Big Brother, the all-seeing, all-knowing nightmare of George Orwell's imagining.

You'll invade the private lives of citizens to uncover those responsible for back-to-back terror attacks. Anything and everything is on the table: their private files, social media, and personal conversations – it's all right there for you to snoop through.

In order to complete the task at hand, you'll use a government security program known as Orwell. It's able to monitor and capture all that happens online, and so you – a human researcher – are brought on to determine what information is pertinent to the ongoing investigation.

Once you've amassed and sifted through enough info, you'll decide what should and shouldn't be passed along to the authorities. This can seemingly lead to fairy drastic actions being taken, so be sure to think things through before coming to a decision.

You're certain to discover secrets that even a citizen's closest family members aren't privy to, allowing for plenty of gross, though no doubt still engaging, voyeurism. You can even pull their medical files and hack their personal PCs. That's too far, man.

It certainly sounds like an interesting one, and it'll find a welcoming home among fans of the found phone genre. I'm just a little surprised that it's taken this long to hit mobile. Better late than never in this case, though.

Orwell: Keeping an Eye on You is now available for purchase as a premium title from over on the App Store. An Android version is also in the works.
