One of the key figures behind Dreamcast cult classics Shenmue and Space Channel 5, Tak Hirai, is preparing to confound the traditional gaming scene once more with his team's next Vita title: Orgarhythm.

As with Square Enix's similarly hard to type Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, Orgarhythm is an unusual rhythm-action game that conflates two distinct genres.

Rather than marrying RPG elements with music - as with Squeenix's upcoming title - Orgarhythm takes its rhythm-action gameplay and blends it with the strategy genre.

While solid details of how this unusual combination will play out are thin on the ground, Hirai hinted to Famitsu (seen by Sinobi) that it would be a difficult game to understand, and that even the members of his development team were split in their reactions to the title.

Using Sherlock Holmes-like deduction skills, I'm going to stick my neck out and guess that it's going to be mightily confusing, then.

Orgarhythm has been picked up by Acquire and will be dancing / strategising its way onto Japanese Vitas in the summer.

We'll keep you up to date as to whether it'll be seeing a western release.
