Android owners can experience the joy of building a settlement in the Edo-era of Japanese history on their device of choice now that the Pocket Gamer Gold Award-winning Oh! Edo Towns is available on Google Play.

Oh! Edo Towns follows in the footsteps of Pocket Academy, Hot Springs Story, and Mega Mall Story by delivering the same build-from-scratch approach that has made Kairosoft games so successful.

Unlike these other titles which take the simulation aspect into smaller settings, Oh! Edo Towns is a straight city builder in which players must build an entire settlement.

Cherry blossoms optional

Oh! Edo Towns delivers a charming and cartoonish representation of the Edo period while still adhering to the Kairosoft style of minimalist artwork that unifies all of its various simulation games.

Although much of Oh! Edo Towns will be familiar to Kairosoft veterans, it offers a novel 'combo' system that encourages players to build their towns intelligently.

In the new combo system, players will receive a bonus to their yields from compatible buildings that are built next to one another. As players build everything from huts to tempura shops to castles, they should keep the combo system in mind.

Oh! Edo Towns is available for £2.99 / $4.99
