Ninja Chowdown is a colorful and humorous endless runner about a very hungry ninja. It's one of the few runners that combines several gameplay elements. This includes jumping, attacking, and even using a super ability along the way.

It was one of the many great games that have been featured on our LaunchPad events. As you may be aware, the Pocket Game LaunchPad events are unique showcases giving information about the latest and upcoming mobile games.

But the game is really one of the more addicting runners out there. The quirky nature combined with the fun gameplay makes it a solid choice if you have the itch to play some endless runners. But here are a few things to know about the donut-filled, ninja experience.

It's Very Humorous and Wholesome

The one thing that's sticky about Ninja Chowdown is how outlandishly silly it is. It helps really make the experience stand out on mobile. Most runners are fun and quirky, but NC cranks it up a notch, just by the story itself, as you take out enemy ninjas and chase donuts too.

The funny thing too is that, as you grab donuts on your runs, you get larger and larger. You might think this will slow you down, but this is actually a good thing. You'll then turn into a faint ball, rolling and destroying anything that's in your way in a hilarious fashion.

And the game feels wholesome with its adorable cartoon art, and it also features some great music too. Of course, due to the minor violence, it's not 100% wholesome like a loaf of wheat bread, but it's at least 90 to 95% so anyone can enjoy it.

Multi-Tasking Runner

Some endless runners have two different elements to them but most are one-dimensional. You're usually running and avoiding obstacles. Ninja Chowdown is one of the few runners where you can run, jump and attack as well, so you'll be balancing the three.

With that said, that doesn't' mean that it's a difficult game. It provides a tad bit of a challenge, but it's also quite satisfying being able to shoot, jump and run your way to victory. And, on top of this, there's a special ability like we talked about a bit earlier.

There's no doubt that the consistent changing of abilities can make the pacing fun and interesting. And shooting stars at foes in different directions is good fun as well.

Beautiful Colors/Visuals

Ninja Chowdown is one of those games with classic arcade-like vibes to it. But it's in a way that's vibrant and rich in colors. You're starting to see many great mobile games being created with this old school/modern blend in art style.

From the main hub which is part dojo and part donut shop, to the mean streets, the art will stand out. It might be viewed as a small feature, as some of the best games out there are as minimal as can be in graphics and art (Minit and Castle of White Night come to mind).

But, combined with the fitting, fast-paced music, the visuals complement the game beautifully. Mix this all in with some fun, fairly addicting gameplay and you have a solid recipe for a good game (and no, not a recipe for a fresh batch of donuts....sorry, Donatsu).
