Prince Caspian meets The Hulk and Hannah Montana but can't decide what to cook for dinner
The next eight days in handheld games
It's perhaps a little odd June is the one summer month on which publishers focus their releases. Maybe it's because people are enjoying the first fruits of enthusiasm for the sun – a feeling that results in carefree spending. Possibly people buy their summer holiday games at this time. Or maybe publishers just want to get their releases completed as quickly as possible so they can go on holiday themselves.
Whatever it is, the next two weeks are certainly looking as packed as Southend beach on a sunny Saturday afternoon.
The mixture of game types is also quite remarkable. There's a good selection of movie tie-ins – The Incredible Hulk, Prince Caspian and Indiana Jones – and racing games are relatively well represented with ATV Offroad Fury Pro and SBK 08: Superbike World Championship.
Hardcore gamers also get a look in. In a good week for PSP, next Friday offers up the prequel to celebrated RPG Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, while there's an Olympic-themed remake of the button-bashing International Track & Field for DS.
And there's plenty for the casual crowd, too, with Hannah Montana, Nintendo's bizarre Cooking Guide, Ubisoft's My Health Coach: Weight Management (those last two could be bundled together surely?) and Mary King's Riding School for horsey boys and girls.
In fact, something for everyone, we'd humbly suggest.
