Halo for mobile gets bogged down in lawsuit hell

In-Fusio sueing Microsoft over long development delays

Halo for mobile gets bogged down in lawsuit hell
|

Can't wait for Halo to come to mobile phones? Well, we're afraid you'll have to. Mobile publisher In-Fusio is suing Microsoft, alleging breach of contract, having originally signed a deal back in 2005 to develop mobile games and applications based on Halo.

In-Fusio has released a mobile portal selling ringtones and wallpapers based on the Xbox franchise, but claims its attempts to get Microsoft to approve designs for a full mobile game have been rebuffed.

"Under the Agreement, In-Fusio's Halo programming designs are subject to Microsoft's approval, which cannot be unreasonably withheld," says In-Fusio's lawsuit filing.

"Nevertheless, Microsoft has thwarted In-Fusio's efforts to develop Halo under the Agreement. Indeed, in the last 11 months, Microsoft has approved no fully-developed In-Fusio Halo game designs; ignoring and then refusing to accept In-Fusio's game design concepts with little or no explanation and leaving In-Fusio little basis to revise its concepts to obtain Microsoft's approval."

If we're honest, the thought of trying to squeeze Halo into even a high-end mobile phone fills us with trepidation. But it can't be denied that Halo Mobile would be one of the most anticipated mobile games ever. Who knows when and even if it'll come out now though, given this news.
