Barnes & Noble slashes price of Android-powered Nook HD tablet to £129
Nook HD+ on sale, too
It's fair to suggest that Barnes & Noble hasn't enjoyed the success it would have hoped for in the UK since it launched its Nook HD and HD+ tablets last year.
There is, of course, one surefire way to drum up interest in any product - tech or otherwise.
Yep, the price cut.
The Nook HD is a perfectly good piece of tablet hardware, boasting a high-resolution display that makes it great for playing games, watching video, reading books, and leafing through magazines.
Up against the likes of Apple's iPad mini, Amazon's Kindle Fire HD, and Google's Nexus 7, however, the Nook HD hasn't fared particularly well.
Slash-and-don't-burnEarlier today, though, Barnes & Noble slashed the price of all the devices in its Nook HD range. So, you can now pick up the 7-inch HD version from just £129, while the 9-inch HD+ (with a full 1080p HD display) is now available from just £179.
The Nook HD price drop forms part of a co-ordinated campaign - in conjunction with the London Evening Standard newspaper and Beanstalk - to "Get London Reading".
While you shouldn't let the mention of London scare you off (the offer is available nationwide), the Nook HD and HD+ tablets will be discounted for a limited time only.
Barnes & Noble hasn't told us when this promotion will expire, so you probably shouldn't hang about.
