A long list of expensive motors for you to crash

iPhone's Need for Speed: Shift car line-up revealed

Real Racing hasn't been met with much competition as yet, though it seems EA is preparing its Need for Speed franchise to race for pink slips against Firemint on the iPhone.

Need for Speed: Shift already impressed us on the mobile, and is revving its engine on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC starting line as we speak. But it's not a proper gaming franchise if the iPhone isn't on the roster these days, and the list of available cars in the accelerometer driven version has just been revealed.
  • Aston Martin Racing DBR9
  • Audi R8 4.2 FSI quattro
  • BMW M3 GT2
  • Chevrolet Corvette Z06
  • Dodge Challenger Concept
  • Ford GT
  • Ford Shelby GT500
  • Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4
  • Lamborghini Murciélago LP640
  • Maserati MC12 GT1
  • Mazda RX-8
  • Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG
  • Mitsubishi Lancer EVOLUTION
  • Nissan 370Z (Z34)
  • Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34)
  • Pagani Zonda F
  • Porsche 911 GT2
  • Porsche Cayman S
  • Subaru Impreza WRX STI
  • Volkswagen Golf GTI

Some mighty impressive motors on that list, which is a lot longer than we expected for the iPhone. Whether they'll all be available from the start, or as unlockable vehicles or DLC add-ons, we can't say for sure at this point.

You can catch a glimpse at a few of these muscle machines in our initial Need for Speed: Shift screenshots, then perch on the edge of your leather bucket seat for more news as it comes in.

Spanner Spencer
Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
