Mythwalker adds 20 new quests to vastly expand its story offerings
  • Mythwalker has added over 20 new quests in its latest update
  • Escort goblin caravan guards, fight off pirates and explore the origins of the Drakate
  • Even take on a mysterious landmark-exploring quest too

It's a peculiarity of mobile that so-called walking games aren't just about traversing your digital avatar around a 3D world, but actually walking in real life. There are plenty of major examples like Pokémon Go, which complement it with other gameplay, but even more that just focus on walking and exploration, like Mythwalker.

You may remember Mythwalker releasing way back in November last year but now it's had a major set of new additions with over 20 additional quests added to its existing lineup! These will explore even more of the Mythwalker universe, including revealing the origins and motivations of the Drakates.

Yes, you'll do everything from exploring the origins of these mysterious but formidable foes, to guiding explosive and violence-inclined goblin caravan guards, and even exploring pirate traditions from around the world as you fight off a squadron of ruthless corsairs.

You'll want to keep your walking boots on too, because one of these new quests will drop you off at "a specific, well-known landmark", with the folks at Mythwalker suggesting you drop a portal for a later return.

I think that what really helps to open up the scope of Mythwalker is its accessibility options, such as the tap-to-move mechanic and the Hyport Gateway which allows you to virtually travel to other parts of the world even if you're not physically there.

Geolocation games often suffer from a limitation in scope, however Mythwalker's scale - and the pace of the regular content updates - is certainly a credit to developer NantGames.

In the meantime though, while you wait for the update, if you want something to play in between your explorations of the outside world with Mythwalker, why not check out some of our reviews? You can see what Jupiter made of Good Coffee, Great Coffee for example!
