Mr Sudoku gets his iPhone game on
Touchscreen-based number puzzling on the way
We love a motion-sensing touchscreen-based first-person shooter as much as the next man (and he loves it lots), but iPhone won't just be about hardcore games.
In fact, from the evidence we've seen so far, this Friday's launch of the iPhone App Store could be dominated by more casual games, with publishers trying to target as wide a base of people as possible.
Among them is Mr Sudoku, an iPhone game based on the pencil 'n' paper number puzzle that took the world by storm a little while back.
It's being developed by Ambrosia Software, and according to Touch Arcade has thousands of sudoku puzzles at four difficulty levels, and a nifty Cover Flow-style interface to choose them.
Meanwhile, you can scribble numbers by actually writing onscreen with your finger, much like you do with the stylus in Brain Age on the DS.
Mr Sudoku is due out this Friday for around $9.99, apparently. We're willing to bet it won't be the only sudoku title to be available then, though: the genre is tailor-made for iPhone.
