Sony will be delivering a demo of upcoming do-it-yourself go-karter, ModNation Racers, to the PlayStation Network on May 11th, for PSP owners to download and get a taste for the game.

ModNation Racers allows creative players to build and share their own custom tracks using an in-depth course creation tool, in a similar vein to LittleBigPlanet. You'll also be able to flex your creative muscles on the race track itself, as you create your own racer and kart.

The demo will feature eight pre-made mods and their karts, two tracks (Lost Temple and Flaming Jumps) as well as what Sony describes as a "taste" of the Track Studio editing suite.

The demo is only confirmed for the United States PlayStation Network, but fingers crossed that it will hit the UK store on its scheduled new update day; May 12th. If not, you can quickly make a US account and nab it from right under their nose, as the demo will of course be free.

ModNation Racers will hit PSP in the UK on May 21st.
