[Update] Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour storms Google Play, suffers download issues
Updated on December 11th, at 15:10: Like Grand Theft Auto: Vice City before it, the Android version of Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour has been pulled from Google Play due to persistent download problems.

A Gameloft spokesperson told us, "Until the download conditions are back to normal we have decided to temporarily deactivate Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour from Google Play."

We'll let you know when the game's back and available to buy.

Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour has just stormed the Google Play Store, giving Android users a chance to blast their way through Gameloft's latest premium shooter.

In this fourth instalment in the FPS run-and-gun saga, you step into the boots of a number of US soldiers, whose collective job it is to stop president-abducting nutbag Edward Page from killing their commander-in-chief.

As you might expect, Modern Combat 4 contains a series of big explosions, exotic locations, bombastic set pieces, and a non-stop hail of hot flying lead.

A word or three of warning for you eager Android types, though: it appears the first wave of Modern Combat 4 customers have had some difficulty downloading it from Google Play.

At present, there are almost as many one-star ratings as five-star scores on the Modern Combat 4 product page, with many disgruntled gamers complaining that they cannot download the game due to "error 941".

Judging by the more recent reviews, it looks like Gameloft has already addressed the issue, but anyone still experiencing difficulties has been advised to contact Gameloft's customer care department.

You can purchase Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour for £4.99 / $6.99 from Google Play now.
