Become the enemy in Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour

The latest instalment in the Modern Combat series aims to offer a more "multi-dimensional perspective" by putting you behind the gunsight of its villain.

According to the first episode in Gameloft's Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour dev diary (below), players will switch between the role of heroic defender of the free world and president-abducting antagonist Edward Page.

Though we don't know how much time we will spend in Page's shoes, it's possible that the dev could be hoping to court a little controversy by forcing players to make uncomfortable decisions (see Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's infamous airport mission).

Gameloft's behind-the-scenes video also explores the new "tactical movement" system, which should allow players to navigate the environments with greater ease.

One thing we are curious to know is how this system will work with the recently launched Gameloft-friendly Duo Gamer. After all, Modern Combat is just the sort of franchise that could benefit from a real pair of analog sticks.

Though a concrete release date for Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour has not been confirmed, we do know that it will be deployed on iOS and Android this autumn. Oh, and that it will carry a premium price tag.
