Mobile Legends: Bang Bang makes a splash in Indonesia for Ramadan with charity grant

For many in the West, it can be hard to think of Ramadan in the same manner we might think of Christmas or New Year's. But in other countries, such as Indonesia, it's one of the most important months of the year - and, as aptly demonstrated by Moonton, a perfect time to make a splash for charity.

That's because Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has committed a whopping IDR 200 million (that's about $11,800) for its 2026 Golden Month campaign that will go towards 300 children in Indonesia to help support them through their battle with cancer.

The Golden Month campaign, which runs from February 20th to March 15th, will also see fans of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang be able to contribute towards further charitable donations simply by playing. Players will earn points that are then placed into an overall donation pool.

Now, obviously, it's tempting to be a bit cynical as this move obviously helps promote Mobile Legends: Bang Bang too. But I think it's indisputable that it's also a good thing, and also shows Moonton are aware that for their audience in places like Indonesia, this time of the year is an especially important one both culturally and religiously.

Aside from these charitable contributions, Indonesian players will also be able to tune into upcoming charity livestreams hosted by popular celebrities Opick and Syifa, which also encourage charitable donations. And even beyond that, the Road to Victory event will see real-world activities taking place across Indonesia from March 13th to 18th.
