Mikey Shorts Halloween coming to App Store as free, seasonal spin-off game

Although the Pocket Gamer Silver Award-winning Mikey Shorts was only updated a couple of weeks ago, its developers are already close to releasing its next bundle of new content.
Curiously, this content will come not as an update to Mikey Shorts but rather as a new game entirely.
This game - Mikey Shorts Halloween - will be its own, separate app that fans of the original platformer can download for the ever popular price of 'free'.
TouchArcade reports that Mikey Shorts Halloween will feature 12 new Halloween disguises and four new seasonal levels each with its own Game Center leaderboard.
Trick… or treat?It might seem confusing as to why BeaverTap Games would release a free spin-off version of Mikey Shorts with only four levels in it.
As it turns out, the Game Center leaderboards were at least partially responsible for this decision. BeaverTap wanted each Halloween level to have its own leaderboard, and Apple caps the number of Game Center Leaderboards for a given app at a modest 25.
Regardless of what lead BeaverTap to its decision, iOS gamers won't have to wait long for Mikey Shorts Halloween to arrive on the App Store: it has already been submitted to Apple for review, and so it should appear in the next week or two.
With any luck, it will arrive before the 31st to help Mikey Shorts fans get into the spirit of Halloween.
