Last night Nintendo announced its first smartphone game. So what classic IP can we expect to see on our mobiles next year? Er, Mii.

The game is called Miitomo and it's not really that much of a game. It's a slightly quirky chat program that lets you interact with other people's Miis.

You create a Mii, or presumably import one from your Nintendo account, then it asks you a bunch of questions. It then sort of wanders off into a digital world to talk to people about you.

It'll only converse with people on your friends list, but the idea seems to revolve around finding out new things about people you already know, and starting conversations that you might otherwise never have.

Nintendo also announced a new account system, which will connect all of your devices under a single Nintendo account.

You can log in with Facebook, Twitter, Google+, email and password, or your existing Nintendo account.

Miitomo is going to be free to play, and it's set to hit the mobiles devices in March 2016.
