Bronze Award-winning side-scroller Magicka: Wizards of the Square Tablet is now free on the App Store
Cut-price magic
If dressing up in a robe and firing magical bolts of lightning at a variety of disgusting monsters is your cup of tea, we've got some rather good news for you.
You see, Ludosity and Paradox Interactive's Bronze Award-winning side-scrolling spell-'em-up Magicka: Wizards of the Square Tablet is now available in the App Store for the delightful price of nothing at all.
In our review of this game, we described it as a "quick and entertaining arcade blast", and added that the fast-paced four-player co-op is the "frenetic icing on what's a delicious, if not quite filling morsel".
All of the combat in Magicka is governed by a series of taps, with your attacks represented by a row of buttons along the bottom of the screen. You can combine different spells to devastating effect.
It's not a perfect touchscreen reinvention of the retro brawler - and it only works on the iPad - but it is a lot of fun. Plus, its new price of free should be enough to encourage you to pick it up and have a go at being an inept wizard for a bit.
So, why not head on over to the App Store and pick up Magicka: Wizards of the Square Tablet for absolutely nothing right now.
