Magic Stone Knights, NEOWIZ's new puzzle RPG, opens up pre-registrations with milestone rewards

Mobile gaming giant NEOWIZ has opened up pre-registration for their upcoming gacha match-3 puzzler RPG Magic Stone Knights. These pre-registrations also come with a guaranteed 5-star hero upon launch for all who sign up, as well as some milestone rewards as more and more gamers get involved.

Magic Stone Knights is NEOWIZ’s latest attempt at breaching into the match-3 genre, this time utilising traditional RPG elements alongside the expected gameplay loop that comes with this sort of title. You’ll be collecting a wide variety of characters to place onto your team then sending them into “battle”, which will act as match-3 puzzle scenarios that you’ll have to solve to progress.

Each character within your party will have specific abilities that will mix up that traditional match-3 gameplay as well. Most of these will be activated by achieving larger and larger block combos, and can affect the colours of each block and whatnot. Think something like Grindstone and you’re not too far off, though Magic Stone Knights will involve a party of three rather than a solo character doing all the work.

All of this is backed up by a story that will see you embarking on an epic adventure through a high-fantasy setting as well. The details of the plot are fairly light and will likely remain so until the official launch, but hopefully, we’ll get more meat to chew on as the days go by.

Until then, we do at least have a few peeks at the characters you’ll come across in the game, and they look quite unique and frankly quite cool too. Between a girl wielding a giant blade adorned in a sweet tiger-stripe kimono and a badass cloaked knight adorned with two big swords, Magic Stone Knights’ vibe is looking good.
