Life is Strange once started as a game that many weren't aware of. But as time went on and more gamers started playing, it has built up a huge following. This is thanks to its storytelling and use of a superpower and its following remains strong seven years later.

With the game's popularity came a remastered edition of both the original Life is Strange and the prequel, Life is Strange: Before The Storm, which follows Chloe's journey before the events of Max's story. And so, with the remasters being a reminder of the game, what about mobile?

Well, it was developed for iOS and Android too, giving mobile gamers a chance to experience the epic and emotional adventure that takes place in the fictional Arcadia Bay, Oregon. For those who have been considering firing up this adventure game on mobile, here are a few things you should know.

Your Choices Matter

Before even playing Life is Strange, you really have no idea what the game is about and how it plays if you go in blindly. Playing as laid back, 18-year-old photographer, Max Caufield, she and her expressive best friend Chloe Price try to solve the mystery of a missing girl named Rachel.

During their adventures, Max has the ability to rewind time and the player can do so at will. Aside from the power, you'll need to make some critical choices that can affect certain aspects of the game kinda like in The Walking Dead and other similar games. This is the juice of the story for all of the Life is Strange games.

You'll tell the difference between a regular choice and an important one. Important ones will make the screen shine and flash with angelic-like sounds playing in the background. Don't worry if you're having a hard time deciding. There's no timer and you can rewind using Max's power if you change your mind after making a choice.

The Story is Essentially Everything

We've seen many games labeled as "story-driven" over the years and Life is Strange truly is a story-driven experience. Aside from the rewind power, the gameplay is minimal compared to the deep amount of dialogue it features, including the sometimes funny (and curse-word filled) banter between Max and Chloe.

Without spoiling, the story is quite a rollercoaster ride from beginning to end. It's a game where you almost want to grab some popcorn while you play. It's like a well-written animated film of some kind but beautifully throws in the gameplay elements to remind you that it's a video game.

It's essentially your story since you have to make all of the big and little decisions. Even with small things, the game will give you a reminder on the top of the screen saying "This action will have consequences..." which has become kind of an iconic symbol for the game. Whatever choices you decide to make, enjoy the wondrous adventure that Max and Chloe go on within the oceanside town of Arcadia Bay.

Collectible Mode

This was a mode that was added post-launch and has since become a staple in the series. It's a fun, lowkey mode that allows you to explore each area freely and make whatever choices you make without any consequences so there's zero pressure.

In particular, you can grab any collectible items that you missed in the regular story, hence the name of the mode. Of course, you can also see if there were any characters you missed the opportunity to talk to and other dialogue-related things.

Life is Strange has many things that you can interact with. Some will see Max say a quick reaction to it while other things may give you more information on the story and more details about the characters involved. Looking through things like notes and pictures is always interesting and can sort of open the doors a bit and Collectible Mode is a fun way to explore these things.
