[Update] Turn-based friend-battling ahoy! Leviathan: Warships coming to iOS at midnight
Updated on May 7th, at 8:30: After being removed from sale due to multiplayer server issues, Leviathan Warships has now returned to the App Store. Hit the big ol' iTunes button at the bottom to get the game.

It's also on Android, if that floats your boat.

Original story follows…

Pieces Interactive has successfully navigated the stormy sea that is Apple's approval process and docked strategy title Leviathan: Warships in the New Zealand App Store.

Leviathan: Warships allows you to build and customise your very own fleet of warships. You can use these custom battleships to help or hinder your real-world friends in turn-based battles.

You can either team up with your buddies and fight enemies together across a variety of co-op campaign missions and special Challenge events, or you can attempt to take down your friends across 14 Skirmish maps.

Leviathan: Warships features cross-platform play, so you can compete against players from around the world regardless of whether they're playing on iOS, Mac, or PC.

It also has a cloud-based save functionality, which allows you to begin a new game on your iPad and finish it on your laptop or desktop computer.

Leviathan: Warships will be available in the UK and US from around midnight for £2.99 / $4.99.
