Apple has rejected the latest version of Kawaii Killer despite it already being available to buy on the App Store.

Yep, you read that right. It seems that Apple has contradicted itself when it comes to passing judgement on Tabemasu Games's first game Kawaii Killer.

Kawaii Killer was released onto iOS and Android yesterday. However, only the Android version is the proper release version.

The current iOS version that you can buy right now is an outdated one. It doesn't feature all the challenges, languages, sounds, and bug fixes that it should.

This is due to Apple deeming the newest version inappropriate for the App Store due to its "realistic images of people or animals being killed".
According to Tabemasu, the amount of gore and violence in this latest version is no different to the previous version - the one that Apple approved.

In the game you bash, slice, and tear apart cute cartoon animals as they pop out of hiding.

It's simple and satisfying, requiring you to memorise different actions for the range of animals, and reacting fast.

Tabemasu is currently in talks with Apple to resolve the issue. Hopefully, as the game is already released, Apple will allow the update, rather than remove the game altogether.

We'll update you on the situation either way when we hear about it.

It's probably advisable to spend your £1.99 / $2.99 on Kawaii Killer on the App Store [buy] right now if you intend to get it, then.

You can also purchase the proper version of the game for £1.76 / $2.99 on Google Play [buy].
