Gamevil has confirmed, via a Twitter photo taken at its Google I/O booth, that Pocket Gamer Silver Award-winning iPhone platformer Kami Retro is coming to Android soon.

Kami Retro looks at first glance to be yet another pixel-art game, but the simple facade belies a complicated and modern touchscreen-friendly mechanic.

Taking control of a group of characters, rather than just the one, your task is to ensure you time their jumps so that they can safely navigate a series of perilous platforms that litter each level.

What starts off as a platform game rapidly turns into a puzzler, thanks in part to some clever level design that introduces a wide variety of obstacles and tools over the course of the game’s 60 levels.

There’s no word on when the game will land on the Android Market yet, but we’ve contacted both PawPrint Games and Gamevil for further details. We'll let you know as soon as we hear back.
