Violent endless runner Joan Mad Run looked ready to ship several months ago. Which is why it's slightly surprising to see it up on Kickstarter now.

Developer Happymagenta says that the reason for taking the game to crowdfunding is a desire to "bring Joan Mad Run up to a finished game quality."

After getting feedback from beta testers and interested players, the team has doubled the amount of work they were expecting to do on the game.

New features, content, and more weapons are planned to be added. But that requires more time and for that they need money. They also want to bring the game to more platforms.

That's why they're looking for $35,000 on Kickstarter right now.

The plan is to add those extra features and release the game in November of this year on iOS, Android, and PC.

You can grab yourself a copy of the game on iOS and Android for $17. That also comes with a PC version, and a Kickstarter-exclusive pack of in-game weapons.

For those who don't know, Joan Mad Run is an endless runner about a prison escapee who sets out on a murder spree. Her goal is to find out the truth behind her locking up.

Apparently, violence is the best way to achieve this. You hop up and down platforms, dodging hazards, and blasting enemies to bits with a large range of nasty weapons.

If you'd like to support the game you can do so by spreading the word of its Kickstarter.

Better still, throw some money at it if you can spare it.
