How to operate the DS alarm
Use your DS as an alarm clock and countdown timer
Loads of electronic devices have alarms on them these days, but that's no good if you don't have them handy. Follow our guide to use your DS – one piece of hardware many pocket gamers will always have with them – as a countdown timer and alarm clock.
Take any games out of your DS and turn it on. You'll be taken to the home screen. Click the system settings icon at the bottom of the screen. |
Setting an alarm requires you set your clock correctly. Select the icon with a picture of a clock and calendar on it, then select the clock on the menu that comes up. |
Set the clock using the arrows above and below the digits. It's in 24-hour format so remember to add 12 to any times after midday. Click Confirm. |
Next we need to set the alarm itself. When you get back to the time setting menus, tap the alarm icon to the left of the clock you chose in the last step. Set the time you want the alarm to go off then select Confirm. Tap Go Back then Quit. You'll get a message saying the DS will shut down. Select Yes. |
Restart your DS and go to the alarm screen: you need to tap the small icon in the bottom right. Press 'A' or tap Yes to turn the alarm on. You can see the time counting down in the top window. |
Shut your DS and keep it near you until the alarm goes off. It's important you keep the volume on maximum, otherwise you won't be able to hear it when it goes off and you'll miss WWE Monday Night Raw. Erm, or whatever else it was you were waiting for. Don't miss our other DS How Tos. |
