Hidden Folks is free on the Epic Games Store, tasking you with honing your eagle eyes to look for the titular folks
  • Tap away to interact with folks
  • 32 areas and over 300 items
  • Free on the Epic Games Store for a week

They say there's no such thing as a free lunch, but with Epic Games Store, you occasionally get a bite to eat without having to pay a single penny. That simply means that from August 14th to the 21st, you can get your hands on Hidden Folks free of charge, worldwide on Android and in the European Union for iOS.

For the uninitiated, Adriaan de Jongh's charming puzzler will have you scouring ink-on-paper sceneries for the titular hidden folks, with lovely visuals illustrated by Sylvain Tegroeg across 32 hand-drawn areas. There's a myriad of things you'll need to keep your eyes peeled for - more than 300, in particular - all presented with stylised monochromatic tones.

Now, in case it all proves too much for you, there's a handy hint system that lets you tap on a target to receive clues on a specific item's location. There's plenty of interactivity here too, it seems, as you can tap away to see 500 different reactions from the people, animals, and even the plants around you.

What makes it all even cooler, in my opinion, is the way the sound effects are laid out - they're apparently all generated by mouth, which adds a nice touch to the aesthetics here.

In any case, if you're on the lookout for something similar, why not have a look at our list of the best hidden object games on Android?

In the meantime, if you're eager to join in on all the fun, you can do so by checking out Hidden Folks on the App Store or on Google Play too, albeit at a $4.99 price tag. You can also visit the official website for more info, or take a little peek at the embedded clip above to get a feel of the vibes and visuals.
