'80 cartoon hero He-Man will attempt to claim the power of Grayskull on iOS tomorrow

By the power of Grayskull! GlitchSoft's He-Man: The Most Powerful Game in the Universe is live in the New Zealand App Store now, meaning it'll be available later tonight in the UK and US.

He-Man: The Most Powerful Game in the Universe is a sturdy hack 'n' slash affair in which you explore the titular hero's home planet, Eternia, and engage in combat with his mortal enemies.

In addition to his standard-issue sword, He-Man can call upon some special attacks, such as tornado spin and flying groundstroke, using in-game currency.

In our preview of the game, we praised the simplicity of the controls - no fiddly virtual buttons here - and the silky-smooth framerate, no matter how many of Skeletor's foes swarm around you.

It really does seem to capture the old cartoony feel of the original TV show brilliantly, from the ridiculous over-the-top action right down to He-Man's leathery thong.

He-Man: The Most Powerful Game in the Universe is out now on the New Zealand App Store. When it goes live in the UK and US at midnight tonight, it'll retail for 69p / 99c.
