HandyGames to become aggregator for Sony Ericsson
Joins GlobalFun in supplying Play Now Arena and Fun & Download
German mobile games firm HandyGames has announced that it's the other official content aggregator for Sony Ericsson's Play Now Arena and Fun & Downloads services.
The handset firm is using two official aggregators for the services, and last month GlobalFun confirmed that it was one of them.
HandyGames CEO Christopher Kassulke says the company will continue to adopt a 'quality instead of quantity' approach to its aggregation activities for Sony Ericsson, which will include dealing with other content providers, sourcing games and apps, and handling the accounting for external suppliers.
It's presently unclear how the aggregation work will be divided between HandyGames and GlobalFun, or whether the largest publishers will continue to deal with Sony Ericsson directly.
However, the fact that the deals are in place means we're a step closer to the launch of Play Now Arena, which is much anticipated by mobile games developers and publishers.
