Halo is now on iOS. For real this time. Microsoft has just dropped both Halo: Spartan Assault and its sequel Halo: Spartan Strike onto the App Store for £4.49 / $5.99 a pop.

These are twin-stick blaster where you wield weapons and drive vehicles from the Halo universe and generally kill loads of enemies. Each game has 30 levels and loads of added challenges.

Spartan Assault takes place just before the events of Halo 4, while Strike starts during the events of Halo 2 on New Mombasa in 2552. In either case you're generally killing things, saving the world. The usual.

Halo 2

We really liked the first game when we played it on Windows 8, saying "It won't sell hardware, but this is a rich and enjoyable arcade blaster with enough content and challenge to keep you playing for a good couple of days."

You can get Assault here for £4.49 / $5.99 and Strike here for £4.49 / $5.99. Or you can get them both in a bundle for £7.99 / $9.99. They're both universal apps and neither have in-app purchases.
