There haven't been enough games made starring Mexican desperadoes or warmongering Red Indians.

So, having released iPhone games based around being a porn shop owner or a shark eating summer swimmers, German publisher Handygames has come up with Guns 'n' Glory; a game we really liked when it was released on mobile.

It's a tower defence game that has you ambushing American settlers as they dash through the canyons, taking their gold in the process to build up your defences.

A new gold rush

In contrast to some other TD games, Guns 'n' Glory enables you to move your characters around the map - you fire at the settlers from above. Of course, you have to stop a certain number getting through the level to alert the sheriff, or it's game over.

Available weapons include dynamite-throwing Mexicans, flaming arrows-firing Indians, cannons, and train-based Gatling guns.

You can also upgrade your bandits through each of the 10 levels. Highscore tables are saved so you can compare score and the like.

Guns 'n' Glory is available as a universal app for iPhone and iPad. The ad-free version costs $2.99, €2.39 or £1.79. We assume they'll be an free ad-funded version available soon too.

You can see how it plays in the following video.
