Glu's freemium twin-stick shooter Gun Bros raises in-app price of top gun 'Kraken' to an eye-popping $500

Hold onto your Smurfberries, iPhone gamers, because Glu Mobile has just blown the ceiling off regarding in-app purchases.

The best gun in its iOS top-down twin-stick shooter Gun Bros is now available for a bank-breaking $500.

Dubbed the ‘Kraken’, the gun itself costs 3,499 Warbucks (the hard in-game currency), which amounts to just under $500 / £350 if you purchase it with real money. And this comes after the price of the gun was raised from its initial 1400 Warbucks.

We can’t imagine there would be many punters willing to fork out such a hefty sum, but Glu's thinking is that there will be some who want the ability to blow up all the enemies on the screen with a combination of homing missiles and a massive laser.
