  • Grid Legends: Deluxe Edition is out now on Android and iOS
  • Bringing arcade and simulation-style racing to mobile, it boasts 130 distinct tracks
  • Race it out in 10 different disciplines against players from all over the world

Mobile porting masterminds Feral Interactive have just released their latest project, as they bring Codemasters' Grid Legends: Deluxe Edition to iOS and Android. What's this hit mix of arcade and simulation-style racing got to offer? Let's dig in and find out.

Grid Legends puts you in the shoes of, well, a racing car driver. But you won't just be engaging in Formula 1 or offroad racing, as Grid Legends boasts 10 separate disciplines to master; be that high-speed Circuit racing, Elimination events and Time Trials. You'll step behind the wheel of high-performance sports cars, trucks and open-wheelers to dominate 130 distinct tracks inspired by real-world racing hotspots.

Speaking of dominating, if you're worried about not getting to show off your skills then don't fret. Because you'll be able to see your times placed on online leaderboards and matched against competitors from around the globe. Take on weekly and monthly Dynamic Events to see if you can place as best in your class. Or just use Photo Mode to show off your race day highlights.

Beyond the asphalt

If you were thinking that's where it ended, you'd be wrong, as Grid Legends also comes bundled with the Driven to Glory story mode. Here, you'll watch live-action cutscenes that take you through the twists and turns of the Grid World Series in stunning detail.

And, of course, it wouldn't be a Deluxe Edition if Grid Legends didn't come loaded with all the previously released DLC, promising you hours of playtime in the palm of your hand. Suffice it to say I've got an inkling that Grid Legends will prove to be a winner with any racing fans out there.

Porting seems to be big business at the minute, but why is that? Well, why not read on through editor Dann Sullivan's take on the so-called Season of the Port?
