Most powerful Gordian Quest builds

Experimenting with different characters and lineups is one of Gordian Quests’ most enjoyable aspects, but with so many options, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, especially as a new player.
That’s exactly why I’ve created this guide with the best Gordian Quest builds, including detailed images for each of the Talents, Skill tree, deck, and all that good stuff, below and on the following pages. I believe that should help you advance through the game's content.

Before diving into the builds, it's a good reminder that the heroes in Gordian Quest thrive on teamwork. That's exactly why we've already covered the best teams in Gordian Quest. The most powerful builds are those designed to synergise, transforming your party into an unstoppable unit. We've talked about that in the previous article. But for now, it's all about delving deeper into each individual character's build.
For maximum impact, pair the following heroes together to create a cohesive and devastating team.
1
Alphonse's build

Talents

Pretty straightforward passives build, since you will go for everything that gives you Max Draw+, Initiative, and so forth.
Deck Build
- Throwing Dagger
- Fan of Knives
- Tactical Options
- Dagger Proficiency
- Deadly Gyre
- Threaten
- Dexterous Handling
- Forked Thoughts
- Improvise
- Lone Wolves
- Shift
Star-up Throwing daggers whenever you can.
Skill Tree

With this build, Alphonse does a crazy amount of AoE damage, becoming capable of clearing the entire board. For that, it's best to pair him with Kudo, since he can debuff multiple enemies and make them take extra physical damage.
2
Catherin's build
Catherin is primarily a support hero in Gordian Quest, and is especially great for beginners. She can heal teammates, boost their stats, and even deal some damage or act as a tank.
You can build her deck to focus on healing and buffs for support, or make her tougher with Guard and Shield Charges for a more aggressive style. This build uses the Cleric's starting deck, Scepter weapon, and Ogre Band legendary belt. Spec towards Intelligence, but ensure you have enough Strength to equip any gear.
Talents

Go for +1 Max Draw passives, intelligence, SP, +1. Nothing fancy.
Deck Build
- Life Surge
- Shield Break
- Rally
- Debilitating Bolt
- Righteous Blow
- Holy Bolt
- Righteous Flame
- Smite
- Empower
- Force of Mind
- Armor of Faith
- Shift
Star-up Life Surge and Shield Break
Skill Grid

With this build, Catherin is primarily a support hero able to buff her teammates' damage output. However, she can also act as a soft tank and be the team's frontline when needed.
3
Kudo's build

Kudo uses Bleed to deal damage, weaken enemies, boost the team's stats, and apply debuffs like Burn, Poison, or Vulnerable. This build uses the Tormentor starting deck and the Echo Rod legendary wand.
Talents

Go for strength, +max draw, Iron Will, Short Fuse, Force of Nature, Anatomical Knowledge.
Deck Build
- Blood Lance
- Hemophilia
- Circle of Agony
- Blood Rain
- Void Orb
- Bone Barrier
- Frost Beam
- Empower
- Threaten
- Double Cast
- Improvise
- Lone Wolves
- Shift
Star up Circle of Agony, Void Orb, and Hemophilia.
Skill Grid

With this build, Kudo can deal AoE debuffs (Vulnerability) and deal significant damage. He's best paired with Alphonse, since Kudo can increase Alphonse's damage by a lot. He's the team's main debuffer and secondary DPS hero.
