It's that time again! Time for another entry into our long-running GAMES OF THE WEEK series.

If you're looking for the best 5 games which have hit the iPhone, iPad or Android stores this week then you've landed yourself at the exact right place at just the right time. Lucky, lucky you.

With this article, we skirt around the droves of subscription services (Apple Arcade, Google Play Pass, GameClub, Hatch, and all of their friends) which have launched onto mobile platforms over the years. We also don't factor in things like Steam Link or Google Stadia which allow streaming to handheld devices - and would open up this list to almost every game under the sun.

What that means is that our list is a finely curated list of brilliant, fresh titles which you can download and play without subscribing to, or installing, any third-party initiative. Of course, there are some great games on those services, but, let's focus on the stuff that you can grab right now.

This week you'll be racing over sweeping green hills in what some have been calling 'Breath of the Wild for mobile', you'll also be blasting baddies as you explore the moon. If that's still not enough then maybe chronicling a bizarre home, or escaping an Orwellian state while live on TV will catch your fancy.

Remember, if you're looking to check through some of our previous selections then you can always do that at our Games of The Week Hub, it's a great way to find games to fill out that empty storage space on your phone. Or, if you like your news in bitesize chunks, delivered straight to your palm then maybe follow us on Twitter or join our Discord.

Anyway, without any further delay, click on the big, blue button below to find out more about what we believe to be the top five of the games which released on mobile over the last week.

Ministry of Broadcast

Excuse the old trailer, but also feel free to give it a quick look. You'll find yourself whisked away to a dire, dire world of brutal (sometimes literally) industralism and a dictatoral, dystopian world where plights for freedom are televised for the people of the nation's entertainment. Perhaps their only entertainment. Ministry of Broadcast is a smart, cinematic platformer in the veins of Prince of Persia and the Oddworld series, requiring careful timing and outside-the-box thinking.

Moon Raider

Available on: iOS + Android
Genre: Action

Moon Raider

With a retro-style reminiscent of the Mega-Drive era, and a cool co-op option, Moon Raider looks like one of the highest quality retro-platformers we've seen on mobile for quite some time. It's fast, frantic and fun, and it's incredibly good value for money considering the amount of content included.

Terafyn

Publisher: South Gale LLC
Available on: iOS + Android
Genre: Card battler, RPG

Terafyn

Visually stunning, and build on carefully layered, refined mechanics. Terafyn's wide world is incredibly well realised and, frankly, it's quite easy to talk about it extensively before even discussing the card-based combat or multiple books worth of intricately worded scenes. It might not be everybody's cup of tea, but if you're a fan of gamebooks then this might just be the best one you've ever played.

Genshin Impact

So, Genshin Impact has now launched on most modern platforms and, frankly, we still think that you should be playing it on mobile. That's not because we're a mobile website though. The ability to play this sweeping open-world RPG while on the go is a massive positive - even if you're not commuting at the moment, teaming up with pals to explore the world together from the comfort of your garden, or the bus stop, is a definite plus.
