The Fantastic Four's Human Torch ignited himself by saying "Flame On!".

Laughing Jackal's upcoming twin-stick firefighter roguelike Flame Over is pretty much the opposite, both in name and in mission.

In Flame Over, fire is not a means to fight criminals. You're a firefighter, and as such you'll need to quench all the flames you see.

As Blaze Carruthers, you have to make your way up a huge maze-like London building, putting out the fires on each floor, and saving the workers and their cats.

Using your mini-map and thermometer, you should be able to trace all sources of heat. But putting it out can be a little more challenging.

Flame Over

The roguelike elements of Flame Over means that it has randomly generated levels and permadeath. The dynamic fire is a big problem if you let it be, then.

"All levels in Flame Over feature items that the fire is able to spread to and consume. The fire can also create backdrafts and unstoppable walls of flame, along with a host of other dangers," Alasdair Evans, the game's producer, revealed on the PlayStation Blog.

Evans also said that Laughing Jackal hopes to have Flame Over out on Vita in Q3 or Q4 2014. It will come with online leaderboards so you can compete with friends, as with Spelunky.
