Forget the touchscreen, in my opinion the best thing about gaming on the iPhone is the accelerometer.

Racing games feel more natural for one thing, and it creates new, unique genres because of how different it is to control over the standard gaming staples of joypad or keyboard.

Take Delicious Toys mind-bending fake 3D image-tilting game FixPix, for instance.

The aim is to tilt layers of a picture so that it matches up with the layers underneath, creating an effect that looks very close to those 3D head-tracking demos.

The images you’ll be manipulating aren’t just random MS paint jobs or dusty old masters though. Instead they’re designed by eBoy, consisting of small snippets of mainly isometric, retro-styled digital art.

There’s no word on an exact release date or pricing as yet, other than its expected on the App Store soon, but there is a teaser demo available on the Delicious Toys website that you can try out in the meantime.
