Gameloft’s fishing tour-de-force Fishing Kings has migrated upstream to the less choppy high-definition waters of the iPad.

Fishing Kings first landed on the App Store for the iPhone back in April to rapturous applause for its engaging gameplay.

It even managed to land itself a prized Pocket Gamer Silver Award, with reviewer Damien McFerran calling it ‘a title which is bound to dig its hooks deep into any self-respecting pocket gamer’.

Other than the obligatory graphical update, which sees your captured bass show off its scales in all their HD glory, Fishing Kings HD doesn’t come with any iPad-specific features in its tackle box, which is mildly disappointing given the price difference between it and the iPhone version.

Fishing Kings HD is available from today for £2.99 / $4.99 / €3.99.
