What Phone?
So you've decided to sample the joys of playing games on your mobile phone.

The first thing you have to realize is different phones are capable of playing different games. As a general rule, newer, more expensive phones have more power, so they can handle fancier graphics and more complicated games.
Whilst just about all phones are capable of playing some games, by no means were all mobiles created equal. Some handsets lack the necessary computer processing power to run even quite old games. Others are too tiny - they're great for posing but the controls can be so close together that just interacting with a game becomes the real challenge. And a few would rather be cameras or electronic organisers (the poor confused souls!)
Naturally, we've selected our favourite handsets for thumb-throbbing arcade action, but if you'd prefer to shop around yourself or even evaluate your existing handset, here's what to look out for. What to look for in a gaming phoneGRAPHICAL POWER: For fancy visuals, you need the latest graphics technology (a dedicated 3D chip is best, but 3G or recent camera phone is fine - ask the shop if this is clear as mud!) THE LATEST OS: Check you've got an up to date operating system (again, ask the man in the shop - you want support for J2ME or the latest Symbian operating system). THUMB-FRIENDLY JOYPAD: Being able to control the game is essential (ask for a quick games demo in the shop). LARGE, SHARP HI-RES SCREEN: You want a clear screen that's as big as possible but which more importantly has a decent resolution - again ask for a test. STORAGE SPACE: You're also going to want a decent amount of memory (you're going to want to store games as well as mayb emusic anf videos into your phone's memory files) Next steps
