A couple of turtles. The pet shop was right out of doves

Apparently the turtle dove symbolises constant love. We have no idea what the turtle symbolises, apart perhaps from cute pets that grow too big and end up being flushed away or dropped into the local pond. Human irresponsibility, then.

When it comes to pocket gaming though, there are a couple of turtle role models to consider.

Quickly bypassing those Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, who raised a brief nub of disappointment last Easter with some terrible movie tie-in games to match their terrible movie, DS fans of point-and-click adventures might be interested in the forthcoming Runaway: The Dream of the Turtle.

Or you could just move on from dogs, cats, tamagotchis, etc, and install a virtual turtle on your phone courtesy of Italian developer DS Effects' Virtual Turtle – at least it would be easier to flush it out of your conscience when the daily grind of looking after it becomes too much.
