E3 2015: These are all the VR games that have been announced at the show so far

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few days, or you don't really care about video games (why are you here?!), then there's a good chance you've spotted that E3 is on.

I'm not there, which I think we can all agree is probably best for everyone involved. But I have been keeping at least one sixth of one of my eyes on proceedings over in LA.

Specifically the portion of my eye that cares about VR games. It might be less than one sixth now I think about it.

Anyway, I decided that I should make a list of the VR games that have been announced at E3. So here is that list. It might not be exhaustive, it might stink of cynicism, but I did it, and in the end that's what counts.

Robinson: The Journey - Crytek

Made by the Crysis dev. Has a poster that features pterodactyls, shattered alien architecture, and a lonely looking astronaut. There's no release date, and we don't know what you'll be doing. Except looking around. There'll be a lot of looking around.

Paranormal Activity - VRWerx

Spooky CCTV camera footage of a woman being dragged around an apartment. But in first person. Are you the camera? Are you the ghost? You're probably not the woman, this is a video game after all. This one's coming in 2016.

Chronos - Gunfire Games

Wander around a labyrinth that only opens once a year. In the game, not in real life. It'd be weird if you could only play the game once a year. You get older with each try, so you'll need to change the way you play to reflect your ageing bones.

Edge of Nowhere - Insomniac Games

This one looks a bit like a first-person prequel to The Thing. There's snow, there's weird tentacle creatures, and by the looks of it it's set in the past. Expect running, jumping, and bridge-grabbing. Probably some motion sickness too.

Rigs - Guerilla Studios

A multiplayer shooter from the dev behind Killzone. Stomp around in big robots and kill your friends. Or your enemies. Or your family. Kill everyone. Kill them all.

Headmaster - Frame Interactive

Is that a pun? That looks like a pun. This is a heading game. So, like, you're just headbutting a football into a goal.

Wayward Sky - Uber Entertainment

A look and click adventure apparently. Don't eat before you play it. Run around, jump on things, have a jolly old time, vomit on your mum's best rug. Get in an argument. Say things you didn't mean. Then she drives off angry, and she doesn't notice the truck. You horrid boy.

Godling - Solfar

Don't know much about this one. Judging by the trailer it's a pyromania simulator. Burn everything. Burn it to the ground. Yay.

StarVR – Starbreeze

This one isn't a game, it's a VR helmet. Apparently it offers a bigger field of view that all the other VR helmets. 210 degrees instead of 110. That's a whole 100 degrees more. A bearded man likes it though, so that's good enough for me.

Harry Slater
Harry Slater
Harry used to be really good at Snake on the Nokia 5110. Apparently though, digital snake wrangling isn't a proper job, so now he writes words about games instead.
