Ensemble Stars!! Music set to host collaboration event with Sanrio in a few weeks
Developer Happy Elements has revealed that their popular management rhythm gacha game Ensemble Stars!! Music will be hosting a crossover with the legendary Sanrio brand, bringing lots of Hello Kitty-themed content to the musical theatrics and introducing four new characters into the game as well!
In case you aren’t aware of it, Ensemble Stars!! Music is a game not too unlike BanG Dream! Girls Band Party or Hatsune Miku! Colorful Stage. At its core, it’s a rhythm game with gacha elements. Those gacha bits are usually centered around character collection, allowing you to latch onto your favorite performer and roll for all their versions and costumes.
The gameplay is fairly simple past that. Mostly, it involves tapping notes in tandem with whichever song you’re performing as a usually quite pretty music video involving your chosen character plays out in the background. There’s a good bit of story in most of these sorts of games, usually told in a visual-novel style, that allows you to really get hooked on each event as more and more scenarios involving the cast come out.
Speaking of characters, let’s talk about Sanrio! Sanrio is the Hello Kitty brand, and in the case of this Ensemble Stars crossover, you’ll get four new cuties to add to your collection: Hello Kitty, KUROMI, My Melody, and Cinnamonroll! These aren’t exactly new characters in themselves, but are instead versions of members of the main cast of Ensemble Stars themed after those popular Sanrio characters. They'll be holding a plushie version of each.
On top of this, you’ll also be able to grab office decorations and limited scenes from the gacha rolls too, all themed after Sanrio content. So, really, this is just an adorable little crossover event that’s mostly all about the cosmetics, though there is a bit of new story content in there with those limited scenes.
