Plenty of games give you randomly generated dungeons to explore, but this one throws in a bit of a twist on DS. It's a game that asks you to create your own dungeons with the sole purpose of attracting a range of monsters into them to then catch in traps.

Dungeon Maker will be released on DS this September by Rising Star Games. Creating dungeons involves placing tunnels and chambers, then adding traps in order to entice monsters into the area. The more desirable the dungeons, the more likely more colourful and rare monsters are to enter. And once they enter, you can then fight them.

So far, so good. But vegetarians should skip this paragraph. That's because once you've defeated a monster you can use its meat in different recipes. Eating these meals then gains you the strength and powers of your fallen foes. I think I prefer Pokémon where they just faint – it's less gory. After all, even monsters have feelings.

Still, if that doesn't deter you then Dungeon Maker could well be worth keeping an eye out for. It's out on September 19th.
